Dehner Franks plays Harlem Stride Piano with the musical Ain’t Misbehavin’. At the Washington State Governor’s Mansion in Olympia, Mr. Franks played “Classical Meets Jazz” as part of the Governor’s Chamber Music Series with classical concert pianist Judith Cohen. At a separate Governor’s Mansion engagement, he performed his own jazz arrangement from West Side Story, and he also played and sang a vocal jazz set with his wife, Jan Franks, during that performance. Mr. Franks has written original music and performed many concerts for Volunteers of America National Conferences and served as staff pianist for the National Public Radio show Sandy Bradley’s Potluck. He has performed at numerous venues including Jazz Alley in Seattle, Catalina Bar and Grill in Hollywood, and with the Everett Symphony Orchestra.
