Musicians-in-Residence

Musicians-in-Residence bring music education opportunities and community events to islanders of all ages. OICMF guest artists are welcomed into the classrooms of K-12 music students, offering skill-building techniques for instructors and advanced students, and the students get a peek into the lives of highly-trained musicians. Residencies often include masterclasses, ensemble coaching sessions, “Pop-Ups” at local gathering places, community concerts, and recitals. Musicians-in-Residence also include early childhood music specialists, who come to work with preschoolers and children in Kindergarten through third grade. Musical story times, rhythmic movement, and playing simple instruments introduce 3-7 year olds to the language of music.
