The daily changes surrounding the COVID-19 virus have quickly turned the world upside down. Unfortunately, the situation has impacted the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival as well, causing us to postpone our March Musician-in-Residence, Monique Mead, and our April 12 Salon Concert with Nikki Chooi and Lisa Bergman.
At this time, we still plan to present our May 10-12 Musician-in-Residence, Mak Grgic, but we will continue to follow recommendations and guidelines from public health officials and will update patrons about changes to our upcoming events through our website and email newsletters.
OICMF is optimistically continuing to prepare for the August 7 – 22 Festival, as well as the Miró Quartet’s June 17 – 25 performances of Beethoven’s complete string quartet cycle. We understand that the ongoing changes to this public health situation make it difficult for our patrons to plan ahead, but we encourage you to purchase your Festival tickets when they are released. Your ticket purchases for all OICMF events this season are fully refundable for any concert or event that does not occur, or if your plans change and you are not able to attend. You may also choose to turn all or part of your ticket purchases into a contribution that supports the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival.
The health and safety of our patrons, artists, volunteers, and staff are our primary concerns, and we shall provide updates on our website, email newsletter, and local media sources as more information becomes available.
We wish you good health and look forward to seeing all of you as soon as possible!
