Anne Pinkerton

Oboist Anne Pinkerton is originally from Chicago. Especially interested in new music, she has performed with One Found Sound, Blackhouse Collective, and at the Bang on a Can Festival. She also has a background in dance and enjoys curating and performing interdisciplinary works and collaborating with other artists. She frequently performs in the oboe and organ duo “Reeds and Keys” with her partner, organist Matthew Dion, showcasing the unique repertoire for this instrumentation. As a soloist, Ms. Pinkerton was the 2024 wind division winner of the Rice University concerto competition, performing Marco Aurélio Yano’s Oboe Concerto. Passionate about community engagement, Ms. Pinkerton is a 2023-2025 DACAMERA Young Artist, leading music-integrated lessons in Houston elementary schools. She recently graduated from Rice University Shepherd School of Music and previously studied at Colburn and Oberlin Conservatories. To learn more, visit annepinkerton.com.
