Every success in the history or future of the Festival would not be possible without the amazing group of volunteers who sustain and nurture this year-round classical music organization. There are not words enough to describe the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival’s deep appreciation for the Festival’s many volunteers.
The nearly 200 summer volunteers provide many of the details that are so necessary to running the Festival, from concert ticket sales, ushering, and managing the house, to providing housing for our many fine performers, to being behind the scenes creating astounding floral arrangements, preparing many meals for rehearsing and performing musicians, and keeping the table linens laundered and pressed.
Year-round volunteers are just as necessary to the operations of Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival. Joining lively office parties to prepare our annual mailings and assisting with parking and programs at concerts are only a few of the ways Festival volunteers make a big impact.
Host a Festival Artist
During our summer season, between 20 and 50 guest artists perform at Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival, each staying anywhere from three days to two weeks. The Festival houses our artists in private homes, which is a wonderful way for members of the Orcas Island community to connect with world-class artists, and many of our home hosts have made lasting friendships with the artists they have housed. If you have a guest cottage or a private guest bedroom with a private bath in your home, we’d love to hear from you. Contact the OICMF office at (360) 376-6636 or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will come for a visit!
