There are many ways that friends and supporters of classical music can help the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival. Some ways of helping are financial; others invite investment of your personal time and skills through volunteering.
You can click on the individual links to learn more about each way of giving. All are greatly appreciated.
Donor and Festival Relationships
Your gifts are a tribute to your belief in the highest caliber of chamber music performance and artistry. The ability to celebrate classical music can only be achieved through a partnership between our Festival, the musicians, and you, our donors.

JOIN OUR FAMILY OF LONG-TERM SUPPORTERS
World-class musicians and the natural beauty of Orcas Island come together to create something magical – the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival. It’s a truly unique experience for all who attend, and the memories can last a lifetime.
The Festival has grown to include music education programs for students and community musicians, as well as intimate Salon Concerts, Pre- and Post-Concert Lectures and Music Lovers’ Seminars. None of this would be possible without our donors.
If you would like to ensure the success of Orcas Island Chamber Music for future generations, please consider making a planned gift. Board members, Artistic Director Aloysia Friedmann, or Executive Director Anita Orne will meet with you to discuss the various options available:
You may be considering a planned gift such as a bequest, appreciated property or securities, life insurance or charitable trust. Your commitment now will ensure a healthy future for the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival. Guidance from your tax advisor will describe the specific actions necessary. We are ready to discuss with you the impact of your legacy gift.
The Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival Endowment Fund was established with a cornerstone gift from the estate of late board member Rosalie Chantiny, matched by a gift from the Valerie and William Anders Foundation. In early 2008, a significant contribution from Phyllis and Robert Henigson brought the OICMF Endowment Fund to our first goal level of $250,000. The Endowment Fund forms the base of stability for OICMF’s long-term financial health. Your gifts will remain invested in the endowment in perpetuity, generating an annual disbursement of 2-5%.
Louisa Lundgren Legacy Artist Fund
Honoring the excellence of performance through the sponsorship of selected guest artists at each annual Festival, the Louisa Lundgren Legacy Artist Fund’s growth celebrates and supports exceptional talent. This designated fund is named in honor of founding Board member Louisa Lundgren.
New Works and New Artists
One of the most exhilarating and inspirational arenas of philanthropy, the commissioning of new works and encouragement of young artists, offers donors a rare connection to history in the making. The breadth of Aloysia Friedmann’s professional and personal network among her peers creates an incredible base of potential for sponsorships of New Artists and commissions of New Works.

There are not words enough to describe the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival’s deep appreciation and positive dependence on the Festival volunteers. Every success in the history or future of the Festival derives its heart and hand-work from the core of individuals who sustain and nurture this year-round classical music presence.
Year-Round Volunteer Opportunities
