Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival presents
the Miró Quartet
in livestreamed performances of the
Complete Beethoven String Quartets
and
An OICMF Encore Evening

July 16 – August 14, 2020

In honor of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven, the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival presents the Miró Quartet performing all 16 of Beethoven’s string quartets in 12 livestreamed summer concerts on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays beginning July 16th. The Miró Quartet will perform Beethoven’s quartets in the order in which he composed them, which differs slightly from the way they are numbered. The Festival concludes on August 14th with an OICMF Encore Evening hosted by Founder and Artistic Director Aloysia Friedmann and Artistic Advisor Jon Kimura Parker. This concert features live music from guest artists’ homes.

Aloysia Friedmann, Founder and Artistic Director

Alyosia

Ms. Friedmann is a violinist and violist, whose broad-ranging career has included tours in Japan, Europe, South America and the U.S., performances with New York’s most prestigious musical ensembles, and a special onstage role on Broadway. Trained at The Juilliard School and the University of Washington, Friedmann plays on a Grancino violin and a Grancino viola.
