trombone
Early in his career, Dan Marcus was a member of the Big Bands of Ray Charles and Woody Herman and had performed in 40 countries by his mid-twenties. Mr. Marcus comes from a musical family in the San Francisco Bay Area and essentially grew up on stage next to his father, clarinetist Marc Marcus. He attended California State University, Northridge, before “hitting the road” at 20.
Since moving to the Pacific Northwest in 1990, Mr. Marcus has enjoyed a breadth of musical experience, including playing many shows at the 5th Avenue Theatre and Paramount Theater. He performs with many diverse musical groups, both as musician and arranger, and also does quite a bit of studio work.
