Emilia Carter
violin
Emilia Carter began studying violin at age 4 under the tutelage of Matthew Olsen and Martin Friedmann. While growing up on beautiful Orcas Island in the Pacific Northwest, she had many opportunities to perform locally and attended masterclasses made possible at the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival. She earned her undergraduate degree in violin performance at the Biola University Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, and her Master of Music at the University of Louisville under Jennifer Ross.
Ms. Carter is a substitute musician for the Nashville Symphony and frequently appears with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Kentucky, Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic. She has also performed with the Lexington Philharmonic, and Cave Run Symphony Orchestra, among others.
During the summer months, Ms. Carter returns to Orcas Island to perform with her twin sister as Almost Classical. For more information, visit almostclassicalmusic.com.
