Zhenni Li-Cohen has been hailed by Gramophone Magazine as “…an artist of tremendous conviction, who fascinates even as she provokes…,” “…a thrillingly good pianist…” by The New Yorker, and by ThePhiladelphiaInquirer for her “…big, gorgeous tone and a mesmerizing touch.” She has given solo recitals internationally in such notable venues as New York’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, Washington D.C’s Smithsonian Museum, Philadelphia’s Kimmel Performing Arts Center, and the Berliner Philharmonie in Germany. She was recently featured in CNN’s “The Power of the Piano” which aired in June 2026.
Highly in demand as a soloist, Zhenni has appeared with numerous orchestras including the Bergen Philharmonic in Norway, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and the Symphony Orchestras of Knoxville, Fairbanks, Bucks County, Bay Atlantic, Dominican Republic National, Johns Hopkins, Lower Merion, and Waterloo-Cedar Falls.
A Steinway Artist who is deeply committed to the art of recording, Zhenni recently released her second album for the Steinway & Sonslabel featuring works by the Ukrainian composer Sergei Bortkiewicz (A Letter), which was reviewed by Gramophone Magazine as “the most consistently beautiful Bortkiewicz recording in the catalogue.” she is looking forward to the release of her recent concerto project on the Pentatone label with Marin Alsop and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra in January 2027. Upcoming solo albums feature Beethoven, traditional Chinese folklore, and collaboration with Edmonton Chamber Orchestra.
